The location along a main street and next to a neighborhood and school prompted U-Haul Area Field Manager Dirck Vorpahl to reach out to owner Kelly Lee about becoming a U-Haul dealer. "He told me I was sitting in a prime spot," Lee said.

Lee has been in the lawn equipment business for 30 years and opened K&E in 2007.

Lake Havasu City's economy and K&E's customer base fluctuates with the arrival of snowbirds and college students, who flock to western Arizona destination during the winter and spring months. Snowbirds come from across the Midwest, Canada and even Alaska in the winter. The spring brings another group: students poised to party.
