Kaytee® Partners With Bird Talk® to Launch Bird eUniversity
Program offers bird lovers the chance to earn a degree and win a one-year supply of Kaytee brand bird food
IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Bird Talk® magazine, the world's leading avian publication, and BirdChannel.com, the premier online destination for bird lovers, are offering avian enthusiasts the chance to earn their "Psittacus cum Laude" degree at Bird eUniversity, sponsored by Kaytee. Classes have started, but there's still time to register at http://www.birdchannel.com/bird-university/default.aspx.
The Bird eUniversity curriculum includes coursework on avian nutrition, bird literature, psychology, sociology, art and more. Each course includes a video lecture from the dean, as well as a reading assignment to prepare students for the exams necessary to pass each class. Classes are in session from September 15 to December 15, 2010 and are free.
"Bird eUniversity is a fun and comprehensive program. Whether you are just thinking about getting a bird or have had one for years, you can learn more about pet birds, and how to make your relationship with them stronger by taking these classes," says Bird Talk and BirdChannel.com Editor Laura Doering. "For those of us who wished we studied birds in college, now is our chance!"
To graduate, students must complete three core and three elective classes – and receive a passing score in each course. To receive top honors or become the valedictorian, a student must take all courses and receive 100% on each exam. The program's valedictorian will win a year's worth of Kaytee bird food.
Additionally, every graduating student who completes the course work will receive a diploma. All graduating participants will be able to download coupons for Kaytee brand bird food. BirdChannel.com Club Bird members will also earn 1,000 points for participating in this program.
