INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Kay Townsend and Derek Selke have been named Regional Directors for the Indianapolis office of BSA LifeStructures (BSA), a nationally recognized architecture and engineering firm.
They join current director, Sam Jackson, who has provided 20 years of project management and leadership to the mechanical, electrical and plumbing design team, before becoming a regional leader in 2017. With the joint leadership, the Indianapolis team has a strong foundation supporting BSA's three markets and interdisciplinary approach.
Kay began her architectural career at BSA and returned to those roots in January 2018. Kay holds a bachelor's degree in architecture and environmental design from Ball State University, and her expertise lies in identifying new methodologies and technologies in laboratory design. Kay's clients benefit from how she implements these findings into state-of-the-art spaces.
"We speak the language of the instructor and the researcher. We specialize in creating places that support that entrepreneurial spirit which can lead to groundbreaking and life-enhancing discoveries," says Kay. "BSA's collaborative design process used with our healthcare clients translates seamlessly to our higher education and life science clients. We understand that every program is unique and design solutions around flexibility and adaptability for future needs."
Derek, who holds a bachelor's degrees in architecture and environmental design from Ball State University, has worked with BSA for 15 years and is currently a member of the board of directors. He recognizes the ability of design to impact the environment, and he uses spatial relationships to create environments that positively affect patients, families, and staff.
"The physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of patients, caregivers, and families is a priority when engaging in a collaborative design process. We believe healthcare design is a critical component to providing safe, responsible and efficient care to patients and families," said Derek.
