Kay® Jewelers and the Pro Football Hall of Fame Announce 2016 Ring of Excellence Presentation Ceremony Schedule
AKRON, Ohio, Aug. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- As the Class of 2016 prepares for enshrinement, Kay® Jewelers and the Pro Football Hall of Fame have announced the schedule for the Ring of Excellence presentation ceremonies. Kay®, the number one jewelry store in America and the Official Jewelry Store of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, was selected to redesign the ring in 2013.
The Ring of Excellence is set in 14K yellow gold and has a total diamond weight of 1 ¾ carats – outer diamonds create a stadium effect surrounding the football-shaped diamond center. The unique design reflects the tremendous accomplishment of enshrinement while celebrating each inductee's distinct career. A likeness of each enshrinee's bust, his position and his years in the league are on one side of the ring, while his name and class appear on the other.
Along with the Class of 2016, select Hall of Famers will also receive their Ring of Excellence this season as part of an initiative launched by Kay® and the Hall of Fame last year to provide all living members of the Hall with their new rings.
This year's class, which includes quarterback Brett Favre, wide receiver Marvin Harrison, tackle Orlando Pace, linebacker Kevin Greene, owner Edward J. DeBartolo, Jr., and head coach Tony Dungy, will be inducted during the 2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony on Saturday, August 6, at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio. Two other members of the Class of 2016, quarterback Ken Stabler and guard Dick Stanfel, will be enshrined posthumously. The six living members of the class will receive their Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence in special ceremonies held at the stadiums of the teams for whom they played, coached or contributed.
