HONOLULU, Jan. 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Kauai Shores, an Aqua hotel, announced the culmination of an extensive renovation project with the opening of its newly built lobby and oceanfront restaurant, the Lava Lava Beach Club.
"This is the crowning glory to what has been a year-long project to transform Kauai Shores. We are excited to provide our guests with an incredible new way to take advantage of our oceanfront location in Kapaa, on Kauai's Royal Coconut Coast," said Kauai Shores general manager Hilmy Dole, "whether it be for a meal, a specialty cocktail, or for weddings and corporate events."
The only "toes in the sand" dining experience on Kauai, Lava Lava Beach Club is a 250-seat open-air restaurant and bar with comfy couches and fire pits, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., with daily live music and hula dancing.
This is the second Lava Lava Beach Club in Hawaii and a first for Kauai. The original location, on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii Island, rose to acclaim for its beachfront setting, signature cocktails, and innovative menu offerings. Highlights that will also be offered on Kauai include a variety of creatively named island-inspired dishes such as "Fresh off the boat" sandwiches, "Veg out on the Beach," and the "Hail Caesar" salad. Plus, a signature pineapple fried rice dish that was praised by USA Today for its creative use of pineapple will also be offered on the Kauai menu.
Overnight guests of Kauai Shores can enjoy two complimentary, specially blended tropical Maui Tai cocktails per reservation, with the option to order them for delivery while lounging around the hotel's central pool. Guests who book for three nights or more will also enjoy a $40 dining credit at Lava Lava Beach Club, valid for stays through December 20, 2016. Due to the east-facing coastline, sunrise breakfasts are another special offering, with more than nine variations of the quintessential morning indulgence, the Bloody Mary cocktail, on the menu.
In addition to the new restaurant and lobby, the renovation project included updates to the guest rooms, corridors, common areas, and exterior upgrades to the building and grounds. Guest rooms now feature a sleek, retro-modern design with vibrant island colors in lime green, aqua, and orange. Designers restored the original blue entry tile and balanced it with the addition of a brightly colored accent wall that visually infuses energy into the space. For the exterior, designers worked with the existing layout of the buildings to form a courtyard around the centerpiece pool. New pool lounge furniture with accent pillows, brightly colored umbrellas, colorful partitions, and exterior paint create a contemporary environment where guests can mingle, or just enjoy the ocean breeze and lush grounds.
"With Kauai Shores, we balanced the old with the new so that we could retain some of the original early Hawaiian character, while creating spaces that are lively, fun, and styled for modern vacationing," said designer Kory Wong Oglesby.
The hotel is located at 420 Papaloa Road, Kapaa, Kauai. For more information, visit www.kauaishoreshotel.com or call (866) 970-4169.
