Katie Meyer-Griffith, Career Development Expert, Joins PAR Staff
LUTZ, Fla., Aug. 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- PAR is proud to announce Katie Meyer-Griffith has joined our staff as a career guidance product manager. Meyer-Griffith will be responsible for spearheading the growth and expansion of the Self-Directed Search® (SDS®), a part of Aspira360. As a seasoned career guidance assessment professional, Meyer-Griffith's addition to the PAR team furthers the company's commitment to providing an industry-leading experience to those looking for educational and career guidance via our growing career assessment platform.
Prior to coming to PAR, Meyer-Griffith served as Associate Director of Graduate Career Services and Strategic Initiatives at the University of Tampa. In this role, she oversaw graduate career services and was chair of the Division of Student Affairs Strategic Planning and Assessment Team. Meyer-Griffith holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from University of Central Florida and an EdS and an MS in counseling and human systems with a specialization in career counseling from Florida State University.
While at FSU, she worked in the career center, known by many as the "SDS School" due to its close relationship with SDS author John Holland and its curriculum's focus on the SDS for career guidance. She has worked closely with professors Robert C. Reardon, PhD and Janet G. Lenz, PhD, authors of the Handbook for Using the Self-Directed Search: Integrating RIASEC and CIP Theories in Practice.
During the last 14 years, Meyer-Griffith has dedicated her career to developing others find the right vocational fit through career assessment. She has helped high school students as young as age 14 years to adults up to age 65 years to find the occupational and educational options that align with their personality characteristics, interests, aspirations, and competencies. She has published works on student support services, distance learning, online portfolios, communication apprehension and career thoughts, and Holland's RIASEC theory.
