Kathy Fieweger Appointed General Manager of MWW Group's Chicago Office
Fieweger, a National Authority on Corporate Reputation, Advances to Lead Midwest Operations for MWW Group and National Enterprise Risk and Labor Relations Practice
CHICAGO, May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- MWW Group (www.mww.com), one of the top ten global independent public relations firms, announced today that Kathy Fieweger has been appointed EVP and general manager of the firm's Chicago office. Fieweger, an experienced communications professional who has counseled numerous C-level executives of well-known brands on complex matters affecting the entire organization, also becomes leader of the national Enterprise Risk and Labor Relations practice.
Fieweger, who previously had served as EVP, corporate reputation, at the firm has more than 20 years of experience in media, public relations and financial communications. Her breadth of experience includes corporate and executive positioning, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and crisis, risk and issues management, and labor relations. Fieweger joined MWW Group in early 2011 and immediately became one of the senior leaders of the firm's national corporate practice.

Prior to joining MWW, Fieweger served as senior vice president at Edelman, where she specialized in crisis and issues management, advising clients on high-risk engagements including legal matters, labor issues and complex financial transactions with international impact. Before her tenure at Edelman, Fieweger worked with Financial Dynamics, a division of FTI Consulting, on its special situations team. As vice president, Fieweger managed restructurings, complex transactions and crisis communications. As a former journalist, she is also an experienced media trainer for executives.
Previously, Fieweger served as a director at United Airlines, working with senior management to develop and execute communication strategies to maintain airline viability, brand preservation and operational performance during the Chapter 11 bankruptcy process. A former journalist at Reuters, Fieweger began her career as an aviation reporter, ultimately serving as the U.S. aero team leader. She also served as an institutional banker at U.S. Bancorp, working with the Illinois State Treasurer and the Illinois Funds investment pool.
Fieweger holds a Master in Business from the University of Chicago, a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame. She is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and volunteers at the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras.
