DETROIT, March 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Join the celebration and the fight against cancer by participating in the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute's 32nd Annual Dinner, Saturday, April 26, at the beautiful Fox Theatre in Detroit. Annual Dinner Chairs are Pernilla Ammann, chief operating officer of Mother New York; and Dan Ammann, president of General Motors Company. WDIV Local 4 Anchor/Reporter Hank Winchester will serve as emcee.
This is the fourth consecutive year that a member of GM's senior leadership has chaired Karmanos' Annual Dinner. The combined contributions from GM and the GM Foundation to Karmanos have come to nearly $7.3 million over the past 17 years.
This signature event is Karmanos Cancer Institute's longest standing fundraiser which over the years has raised critical funds to benefit patient care and research. This year's event will support the renovations of the Institute's infusion center, providing a more comfortable and soothing setting for patients to receive their chemotherapy treatments.

The elegant Black Tie event will include the ambiance of the 1920's, a strolling cocktail reception with entertainment provided by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, seated dinner, brief program and dancing.
