DENVER, Feb. 27, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Karla Kinser, PE, joins Burns & McDonnell, an engineering, architecture and construction firm, in delivering water treatment solutions for municipal and industrial clients. Kinser will manage project teams consisting of engineering, architecture and construction professionals to plan, design, permit and construct conventional and advanced water treatment facilities.
"We are thrilled to welcome Karla to our water team as we witness an increasing demand for safe and reliable water solutions," says Mark Lichtwardt, senior vice president and general manager for Burns & McDonnell in Denver. "Whether it's implementing water treatment technologies or updating aging infrastructure systems, Karla's extensive knowledge and depth of experience will help take communities into the next century."
Kinser will serve in a variety of consulting and project development roles as part of the firm's ongoing commitment to provide quality and cost-effective solutions, including design-build, engineer-procure-construct (EPC) and other professional services that improve life cycle costs, reduce construction time and lower project costs for water infrastructure systems.
With nearly three decades of experience, Kinser specializes in designing and implementing low pressure and high-pressure membranes — a chemical separation and water purification technology — which can be used for treating drinking and industrial reuse water. She has managed more than $2 billion in projects, leading multi-discipline teams on complex collaborative delivery pursuits domestically and internationally. Kinser has experience working with municipal, mining, industrial and oil and gas clients.
"Water plays an integral role in the economic prosperity for communities and businesses alike, and I look forward to using my passion to help deliver cost-effective solutions that push the needle forward," says Kinser, who joins the growing Water Group in Denver as a senior project manager.
Kinser recently served as a board member for the American Membrane Technology Association and is currently a member of American Water Works Association and WateReuse Association. She received her master's degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois-Urbana.
