Karl Rove To Keynote Desert Christian Academy's Annual Auction Gala
Controversial Political Guru Will Focus on Faith
BERMUDA DUNES, Calif., Feb. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Known as the "Architect" of George W. Bush's two successful campaigns for the White House, Karl Rove's work as a political strategist has continued since leaving the White House. The noted author of New York Times Bestseller, "Courage and Consequence: My Life as a Conservative in the Fight" will headline Desert Christian Academy's Annual Auction Gala on Saturday, March 2 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort in Indian Wells, California.

The DCA Annual Auction, now in its 23rd year, is the primary fundraiser for DCA's Tuition Assistance Program, which allows students of any socio-economic background to attend Desert Christian Academy. More than 60% of the students enrolled at DCA receive some level of assistance during their tenure at the academy. DCA spends nearly $1 million annually on providing assistance in various forms to ensure access to the Desert's best education. Desert Christian Academy believes in "Empowering the Mind and Engaging the Soul", teaching core Christian values alongside a rigorous academic program.

Karl Rove served as Senior Advisor to President George W. Bush from 2000–2007 and Deputy Chief of Staff from 2004–2007. Following his work for President Bush, Mr. Rove continued his work in the political world as a contributor to Fox News, and a proponent for Republican candidates throughout the Country. He is a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal, and many other publications. A Colorado native, he attended the University of Utah, the University of Maryland-College Park, George Mason University, and the University of Texas at Austin. He now serves on the University of Texas Chancellor's Council Executive Committee and on the Board of Trustees for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation and the Texas State History Museum Foundation, and resides in Austin.
