OAKLAND, Calif., July 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Hundreds of people from Oakland businesses, City of Oakland officials, and tech and community leaders gathered on Wednesday, July 20 for the ribbon cutting ceremony and reception to celebrate the opening of the new Kapor Center for Social Impact building, located in the heart of Uptown Oakland. Food was provided by Agave Uptown, the new Oaxacan restaurant located on the ground level of the Kapor Center. Wine and beer were provided by Oakland vendors.
Located at 2148 Broadway, the new building will serve as a convening space that brings together leadership and support in the Oakland community. It will be where the Oakland tech and social justice communities come together to leverage tech to solve real world problems. The Kapor Center's work, partnerships and investments promise to make Oakland a model of tech done right.
