Kalispell Regional Healthcare Replaces Legacy Systems With Plexus TG's Anesthesia Information and Medication Management Solutions
JACKSON, Mich., May 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Plexus Technology Group, LLC (Plexus TG), a market-leading provider of Anesthesia Information Management Systems (AIMS), is pleased to announce Kalispell Regional Healthcare (KRH) advanced their pharmacy operations and upgraded their anesthesia EMR with Plexus TG's combined anesthesia information and medication management system. They transitioned from a legacy AIMS system with a legacy cart solution, and now have integrated medication cabinets and complete coverage for anesthesia documentation at both facilities including operating room, obstetrics, eye, and endoscopy locations.

KRH began their search with a comprehensive request for information (RFI), and from among the vendor responses, they selected Plexus TG's combined anesthesia and pharmacy recordkeeping systems.
"From our experience, we recognized the value of a solution that eliminates duplicate documentation and provides anesthesia with a single medication recording system. Our anesthesiologists appreciate how quick and easy it is to use, and it's saved many hours for our pharmacy staff, too," explained Suzanne Catalfomo, Pharmacy Informatics Specialist at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
Plexus TG's AIMS software, Anesthesia Touch™, offers the clinicians flexibility and mobility by utilizing the iOS iPad technology in collaboration with the Windows touchscreen platform, simplifying access and extending electronic recordkeeping to areas unavailable under their prior AIMS product. The Pharmacy Touch™ solution provides KRH's pharmacy with greater efficiencies by streamlining their medication tracking, labeling and reconciliation processes.
"During our search for a replacement system, we hoped to select a tablet-enabled solution. Having used Anesthesia Touch for several months, I can look back and say that was absolutely the right decision," said Dr. Jonathan Anderson, MD, Anesthesiologist at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
Additional time-saving and patient safety enhancements include streaming vital signs into Anesthesia Touch and single-sign-on integration with the Codonics' Safe Label System® (SLS), where bar code scanning confirms the medication, updates their anesthesia cart inventory, and immediately produces a full-color, standards-compliant syringe label.
"From our initial conversations all the way through to daily productive use, the experience and knowledge of the Kalispell team really shows," said Greg Matthews, Director of Product Management at Plexus Technology Group. "It's rewarding to witness how our technology enables efficient workflows supporting outstanding patient care."
