OAKLAND, Calif., July 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Kaiser Permanente announced today that it placed in the top 20 of IDG's Computerworld magazine 2012 List of 100 Best Places to Work in IT. The health care organization ranked No. 18 out of 100 organizations recognized for challenging their IT staffs, while providing great benefits and compensation.
"At Kaiser Permanente, 'Thrive' is not just an advertising slogan, it's a commitment we have made to improve the total health not only of our members, but also our employees," said Philip Fasano, executive vice president and CIO of Kaiser Permanente. "We continue to invest in programs to improve our workplace, including Healthy Workforce activities, learning and development opportunities and other exceptional benefits. It's especially rewarding to know that our IT employees continue to give a collective vote of confidence in our ongoing efforts to be a Best Place to Work."
This is the second consecutive year that Kaiser Permanente has ranked in the top 20 of Computerworld's List of 100 Best Places to Work in IT. The health care organization also ranked No. 2 on Computerworld's top 10 list for Diversity this year. Kaiser Permanente's IT workforce participated in Computerworld's in-depth workplace survey earlier this year.
The magazine highlights Kaiser Permanente's award-winning Healthy Workforce employee wellness program, designed to support employee health and wellness both inside and outside the office.
"The organizations on this year's Best Places to Work in IT list consistently seek out and hire the most talented IT people, offer them competitive pay and provide great benefits," said Scot Finnie, editor in chief of Computerworld. "Many of these organizations have spent years building top-notch IT workplaces, and we applaud the amazing work they've done to sustain dynamic environments where IT professionals can work with the latest technologies and play a key role in business-critical projects."
