Kaiser Permanente's commercial health plans received the highest score in five of the study factors, including information and communication, provider choice, customer service, cost, and coverage and benefits. And, for the seventh consecutive year, Kaiser Permanente has ranked highest in overall member satisfaction in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
"In this time of extraordinary change in health care, we must continue to listen carefully to the voices of our members," said Kim Horn, president, Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States (@KPMidAtlantic). "That is why I am so honored to be part of this important consumer-driven recognition from J.D. Power. We're thrilled to know that people who choose us to provide their health coverage and care are the most satisfied in the Mid-Atlantic Region."
The J.D. Power 2015 Member Health Plan Study measures member satisfaction among 134 health plans in 18 regions throughout the United States by examining the experience of a health plan member in key areas such as: coverage and benefits, cost, provider choice, customer service, information and communication, and claims processing.
"Our Permanente physicians are exceptionally talented clinicians and also acutely aware of the demanding lives our patients lead. That's why our doctors are on the cutting edge of providing the best care in ways that are most convenient for our patients. Our doctors embrace not only face-to-face visits, but also email and telemedicine. We are thrilled that our patients have, once again, declared that Kaiser Permanente provides outstanding service," said Dr. Bernadette Loftus, Associate Executive Director, Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group.
The study reflects the results of a survey that was conducted from November to December 2014 and completed by more than 31,000 members of commercial health plans.
