Kahlua® Declares First-Ever National Cocktail Your Coffee Day
Following Change to Daylight-Saving Time, Embrace the Yearly Tradition of a Lost Hour with Afternoon Coffee Cocktails with Kahlua®
NEW YORK, March 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The original rum and coffee liqueur Kahlua® today announced the inauguration of National Cocktail Your Coffee Day - today, Monday, March 10. The new holiday comes just in time as Americans advanced their clocks forward one hour for daylight-saving time, thereby losing one precious hour to their day. Knowing that Mondays can be rather challenging anyway, Kahlua has chosen to declare this special Monday as National Cocktail Your Coffee Day - giving coffee and cocktail lovers a delicious excuse to give their regular afternoon coffee break a little extra love.
Whether consumers are looking to celebrate National Cocktail Your Coffee Day in the afternoon or with a post-dinner nightcap, Kahlua pairs exceptionally with hot and iced coffee and in a variety of specialty cocktails. Kahlua offers rich and distinct flavor and is made with sugarcane rum and 100 percent Arabica coffee from Veracruz, Mexico. The portfolio includes Original, Cinnamon Spice, French Vanilla, Mocha and Hazelnut flavors for a suggested retail price of $16.99 for a 750 mL bottle.
"The induction of National Cocktail Your Coffee Day is our stake in the ground for those fans who love coffee and cocktails so much," said Michelle Sanders, brand director for Liqueurs at Pernod Ricard USA. "Declaring a unique holiday like this for our consumers who love both beverages so much is a direct reflection of our brand's playful personality. We hope to inspire afternoon and evening coffee breaks to be that much more delicious today."
Kahlua's first-ever National Cocktail Your Coffee Day will be supported via the brand's social media channels where cocktail recipes and product information will be shared using the official #CocktailYourCoffee hashtag.
