K2 Releases New SmartStarters, Helps Customers Rapidly Deploy Business Process Applications
BELLEVUE, Wash., Nov. 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- K2 Software today announced 13 new SmartStarters to provide customers with a low-code approach to rapidly deploy business process applications by using real-world, turnkey examples built by K2. The new SmartStarters are available today for K2 blackpearl 4.7 customers via the K2 Marketplace.
To further enhance its already strong capabilities in low-code app development, K2 now has more than 50 SmartStarters to support both K2 blackpearl and Appit customers through their digital transformation. SmartStarters allow app creators to build new apps quickly by providing working examples of a basic business app with the ability to customize and configure their business app with ease. Each SmartStarter is fully functional and includes sample forms, workflows, actions and data integration via SmartObjects. K2 supports reusability and customization of its forms, workflows and SmartObjects so app creators can easily leverage a component many times across their portfolio of K2 applications.
Some examples of the 13 new SmartStarters include:
- IT Service Request: Manage all IT-related service requests in your organization; this app routes requests to the appropriate staff for actioning, and provides the requestor with full visibility of progress.
- FAQ Review: Guarantee accuracy and relevancy of FAQ content; this app captures and routes it to relevant subject-matter experts for signoff before the content is published.
- Training Request: Automate your training requests; this app provides timely routing for review and approval, with clear outcome of communication between the requestor and the approver.
- Social Media Post: Ensure consistency and oversight of social media content; this app routes content to be published, and to the intended social media platform where it will be published, for approval and signoff.
"It's important that we help more tech-savvy business users solve their challenges by enabling them to create applications without the traditional constraints of native app development and the backlog of IT," said Karri Alexion-Tiernan, VP of Product Marketing, K2. "SmartStarters are one of the ways that K2 is empowering more customers to build apps easier using a low-code approach."
The introduction of new SmartStarters comes on the heels of K2's latest release of updates to empower customers to digitally transform their business processes. The updates included new capabilities for K2 Mobile, K2 Management, K2 REST Service and Microsoft SharePoint 2016.
