K-Swiss Triathletes Claim First, Second and Third at This Weekend's 2010 Ironman 70.3 World Championship

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif., Nov. 15, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Iconic California Sport footwear and apparel brand K-Swiss (Nasdaq: KSWS) is thrilled to congratulate back-to-back Ironman 70.3 World Champion Michael Raelert, and professional triathletes Leanda Cave and Timothy O'Donnell for their respective second and third place finishes in K-Swiss gear at the Foster Grant Ironman World Championships 70.3 in Clearwater, Florida, on November 13th, 2010.  K-Swiss triathletes dominated the pro field with seven team athletes placing among the top ten.

Raelert, Cave and O'Donnell each finished the half marathon run course in the K-Swiss K-Ruuz™, a high performing, ultra lightweight racing flat that has proven to be an athlete favorite throughout the racing season.

German dominator Raelert successfully defended his Ironman 70.3 World Championship title with a time of 3:41:19 becoming the only triathlete in the race's five year history in Clearwater to win repeat titles.  Though Raelert exited one minute behind the leader out of the water, the Trek/K-Swiss athlete fought tough wind conditions on the bike course to catch-up with the leader of the pack going into the run.  Raelert quickly took the lead in the run, crossing the finish with a half marathon pace of 1:09:57.

U.K. champion Cave powered from fourth off of the bike and made up time on the run course with an impressive pace of 1:23:15.  Cave's powerful run secured her a second place in the women's division with a total race time of 4:12:34.  As the top American male in the race, O'Donnell ran the 13 mile stretch in 1:12:43, earning him a third place title and a total course time of 3:44:18.

K-Swiss also extends congratulations to its incredible athletes who earned places in the top ten. In the men's race Joe Gambles took fourth with 3:44:48, less than 30 seconds behind O'Donnell and Matty Reed, who took ninth with a time of 3:48:13.  In the women's race, Heather Jackson rounded out top five with 4:17:08, claiming the fastest bike split of the day.  2009 Ironman 70.3 World Champion Julie Dibens secured an eighth place spot with a total time of 4:20:55.
