K. Alec Mahmood joins Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota as new Chief Financial Officer
MINNEAPOLIS and ST. PAUL, Minn., Sept. 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota is pleased to welcome K. Alec Mahmood as its new chief financial officer, effective July 15. Mahmood succeeds Jerry Massman, who recently retired following a distinguished 18-year career with the organization.
Mahmood will oversee Children's financial activities, including financial planning, accounting, revenue management, treasury and accounts payable. He brings more than 20 years of experience in health care management and financial leadership to his new role. Most recently, he spent five years as the chief financial officer for HealthMarkets, a Dallas-based health and life insurance company. Prior to joining HealthMarkets, he was the chief financial officer and chief operating officer of the Medicaid division at Coventry Health Care. He has also held leadership positions at Ardent Health Services, Kaiser Permanente and Health Net.

Mahmood was raised in Southern California, and after graduating from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb., returned to California to complete his master's in health administration at the University of Southern California. He, his wife and their four children are looking forward to settling into the Twin Cities.
