Justice Department Announces Nearly $2.1 Billion in Fiscal Year 2011 Awards
WASHINGTON, Oct. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Justice Programs (OJP) today announced nearly $2.1 billion in Fiscal Year 2011 funding to advance the criminal and juvenile justice fields and to assist victims of crime.
Over 3,500 grants were awarded this fiscal year to the criminal justice field, including federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies, and community organizations. The funding will support a wide range of activities designed to increase the capacities of communities to prevent and control crime, to assist victims, to provide high-quality research and evaluation, and to encourage local innovation.
