Just Play: NAMM Foundation Launches 2014 PSA Campaign "Bring More to Life"
Public service effort encourages everyone to experience the benefits of playing music
CARLSBAD, Calif., March 13, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The NAMM Foundation unveils a bilingual public service announcement designed to inspire people to experience the benefits of playing music. The spot, titled "Bring More to Life," is the second PSA in the "Just Play" campaign, which launched in 2013. Beginning in spring 2014, "Bring More To Life" will air in a multi-media, international campaign including television, radio, billboards, online, YouTube and in-store components.
Last year's television spot, "No More Excuses," motivated people of every age to let go of the excuses that kept them from learning to play a musical instrument. This year's campaign focuses on the ways that playing musical instruments can enhance one's life, such as building confidence, improving focus, and creating moments with loved ones.
"Just Play offers a diverse, people focused view into the NAMM Foundation's vision of a world in which the joy of making music is a precious element of daily living for everyone," said Joe Lamond, president and CEO of NAMM. "The PSAs aim to make that vision a reality by encouraging those who don't currently play to give it a try. Most people say they wish they could play music and that dream has never been as accessible as it is now. There are no more excuses. Just PLAY!"
The television spot, "Bring More to Life," features a variety of real, amateur musicians from different walks of life playing Pachelbel's Canon in D. Together the people create a unique and moving musical piece. Key health, developmental and social benefits of playing music appear throughout the scenes. The spot beautifully showcases how music can elevate so many aspects of life.
The "Just Play" campaign underscores the NAMM Foundation's year-round initiatives designed to advance active participation in music making, including support of scientific research, philanthropic giving and public service programs.
