Junior League of Portland Announces Fourth Annual JLP CAREs Event to Revitalize Community, Raise Funds
PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Junior League of Portland, an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, has announced its fourth annual JLP CAREs event on October 5, 2013 from 9am to 1pm. The event pairs Junior League participants with Portland nonprofits to contribute service hours and raise funds to support the League's mission throughout the year.
In addition to their time, Junior League of Portland members will spend the weeks prior to the event raising sponsorship donations for their work performed the day of the event. With a goal of raising $25,000, these funds are crucial to sustaining Junior League's mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and impacting Portland through programs that aim to address some of the most pressing needs of Portland's families.
This year, nine different Portland area organizations are partnering with the Junior League:
Peninsula Children's Center, Children's Developmental Health Institute, Children's Center, CODA, The Shadow Project, upstARTpdx, Raphael House, Neurotherapeutic Pediatric Therapies, Inc, and The Children's Book Bank.
Junior League partners are focused on positively impacting the education, safety, and health of Portland's women, children, and families, which is also the primary focus of the Junior League.
The Junior League of Portland is asking community members to sponsor their participation during this year's JLP CAREs. To donate to the event and learn more about Junior League programs such as Between the Lines and Stop Human Trafficking efforts, visit www.juniorleagueofportland.org.
