Junior Explorers Subscription Program Inspires Kids To Explore, Share And Protect The Planet
Teaches kids about wildlife and nature in a fun way, giving a portion of its profits back to support conservation
BROOKLYN, N.Y., Nov. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Junior Explorers, Inc., an innovative social enterprise, is launching a groundbreaking subscription service today aimed at the 40 million elementary school kids in America. Founded with a mission to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards, Junior Explorers teaches kids about wildlife and nature in a fun and engaging way. The company also fulfills its social mission through a 'Mission Give Back' program, donating back a percentage of its profits to conservation.
"Everyone's talking about the planet but we want to speak with the generation most impacted: kids," said Anurag Agarwal, founder and CEO. "By simply combining all things that kids love: animals, gaming, collecting, and sharing, we created a truly experiential program that kids and adults can get excited about," added Agarwal.
Each month, Junior Explorers go on exciting missions to explore different ecosystems, such as the Arctic in search of a missing polar bear, the Serengeti to observe the great migration, or to explore the Amazon. Every mission starts at home with a kit arriving in the mail that includes collectibles, activities, and information about that month's mission. Kids then go online and complete their mission through a rich gamified learning experience that's accessible on computers and mobile devices.
Junior Explorers is the only subscription program that fuses both the online and offline worlds making it the perfect gift for kids. It is available in one, three, six and twelve month subscriptions priced at $19, $49, $95 and $185, respectively.
The company's 'Mission Give Back' program teaches kids to support organizations on the frontlines of conservation. "What's exciting is that Mission Give Back could form the foundation of the next generation of philanthropists," said Rhett Butler, founder of Mongabay.org, an environmental non-profit organization.
Junior Explorers is backed by industry veterans like John Replogle, CEO of Seventh Generation Inc, Carl Sparks, ex-CEO of Travelocity, and other noteworthy investors. The company will soon launch a Series-A financing round.
