NAPERVILLE, Ill., Dec. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Continental Who's Who recognizes June D. Barnard as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in recognition of her contributions to the Non-profit field.
Barnard has served as President and CEO of The Driskill Foundation for the past three years. June became impassioned to cultivate our next generation's curiosity and passion for learning across all educational areas, one program and one partnership at a time. Her role requires her to carry out strategic plans and policies, and develop corporate partnerships.
"After 40 years of business management and development experience, I have the privilege of applying my skills to work with the Driskill Foundation team as we partner with visionary organizations that catalyze a person's innate desire to explore and discover our world," Barnard said.
According to its website, "The Driskill Foundation is a private nonprofit organization formed in 1987." Its belief is "that a key component to creating the next generation of innovators is to support progressive programs that ignite curiosity." June's goal is to form a public foundation within the coming year to reach potential donors committed to visionary educational programs that catalyze a person's innate desire to explore and discover our world.
Before her work in the nonprofit world, Barnard was the President of Barnard Ltd. and Barnard's Boutique, which sold fake food, seasonal props, and apparel and costume jewelry. Barnard also utilizes experience gained as the Vice President of two different banks as well as in her role as a Personal Banker.
Barnard attended DePaul University's School of New Learning in the mid-80's. To further her professional development, she is a member of AFP, the Naperville Chamber of Commerce, and the Union League Club of Chicago. She is also a member of the National Association of Professional Women, the Mayo Leadership Council of Chicago, and volunteers at both the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago and the Chicago Lights Tutoring Program.
Barnard dedicates this recognition to her daughter, Kathryn; and her grandchildren, Katelyn and Nathan; as well as to the loving memory of her husband, Ronald L. Barnard, whom she thanks for his love and support.
