WASHINGTON, July 21, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Walter M. Shaub, Jr., who served until July 19 as the Director of the Office of Government Ethics will address a National Press Club Headliners news conference at 10 a.m., Friday, July 28 in the club's Lisagor Room.
Shaub resigned earlier this month, short of completing a five-year term that began in January 2013, after a tumultuous six months in which he openly demanded that the White House make public all ethics waivers granted to Presidential appointees and raised questions about President Trump's refusal to divest his business holdings.
He also called for the Office of Government Ethics to be granted greater authority to obtain information related to how and why recusals and waivers from existing ethics laws are granted to appointees.
Since leaving the government, Shaub has joined the Campaign Legal Center, where he plans to be an advocate for ethics reform at all levels of government.
The National Press Club is located on the 13th Floor of the National Press Building, 529 14th St. NW, Washington, D.C. This Newsmaker event is open to credentialed media and NPC members free of charge, with advance registration required. Please click here to register.
