Julie Payne, G4S General Counsel, Receives Karen Marquez Honors Award

JUPITER, Fla., Sept. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Julie Payne, Regional General Counsel for G4S, will be honored at the 2nd Annual ASIS Women in Security Working Group Karen Marquez Honors event during ASIS International's 60^th Annual Seminar in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Karen Marquez Honors are presented annually to security professionals who have consistently worked for the betterment of the security industry over an extended period. "Women in Security advocates for the advancement of women in the security industry," said Lisa J. Dolan, Chair, ASIS Women in Security. "Recognizing industry leaders like Julie Payne supports our mission to highlight the impact women have on our industry."

As an industry veteran and advocate, Julie has been an active member of National Association of Security Companies (NASCO) since 2008, contributing significantly to industry issues for more than 15 years. Julie has testified before Congress, widely shared her experiences with the industry, and garnered support for the industry from business organizations such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Julie joined G4S in 2005 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel and was responsible for the provision of all legal services to G4S and its subsidiaries throughout the United States. Prior to joining G4S, Julie served in a legal capacity for Barton Protective Services (now Allied Barton) and held high level legal positions with pharmaceuticals and construction firms. Julie attended the University of Kentucky, where she earned a Juris Doctor. She is a member of The Georgia Bar and certified as Authorized House Counsel by The Florida Bar. In May 2014, Julie was named Regional General Counsel for G4S in Europe.
