JUGS Sports Introduces The BP®3 Baseball Pitching Machine With Changeup
Their latest innovation that will change the way hitters take batting practice.
TUALATIN, Ore., March 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- JUGS Sports, the leading producer of pitching machines for over 40 years, has unveiled its newest training aid, the BP®3 Baseball Pitching Machine with Changeup.
As a result of new patented technology, the BP®3 received "Best in Show" in innovation, functionality, creativity and durability at the 74th annual American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) convention in January.
"The real determining factor on a college hitter is—can you hit the off-speed pitch? I think JUGS is going to dominate the field with this technology with the change-of-speeds and the different kinds of pitches," George Horton, head baseball coach, University of Oregon.
According to a national survey conducted at the National Baseball Coaches Association convention, nearly 96 percent of all coaches indicate that a changeup-like machine is needed to enhance the practice experience for their hitters. From 40–90 mph, the BP®3 comes with a remote control, as well as a manual changeup button located on the machine's control panel. The Select-a-Pitch™ dial throws, including fastballs, changeups, right- and left-handed curveballs and sliders, right- and left-handed cutters and split-finger fastballs.
"We are committed to listening to the needs of coaches and hitters and continue to evolve our technologies to change how teams take batting practice," said Butch Paulson, president of JUGS Sports.
The BP®3 patented technology, Gripe-Tite® tires, provides better contact with the ball for exceptional pitch control and accuracy, and an uninterrupted view of the ball throughout the entire pitch process allows the hitter to realistically time their stride.
"The technology has gone off the charts. This machine does what pitchers do—fool you with speed, location and timing. This pitching machine is really going to set the standard for what we do in college baseball," said Pat Casey, head baseball coach, Oregon State University.
"All of our machines are designed to develop muscle memory and hand-eye coordination, giving hitters as many game-like strikes as they will ever need. But we feel that our latest technology found in the BP®3 is as close to live batting practice as a pitching machine will ever be," said Paulson.
