Juergen Bender Joins Trilliant as Managing Director For The Asia Pacific Region
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Jan. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Trilliant, a global smart grid communications and solutions leader, today announced that Juergen Bender has joined the executive team as managing director for the Asia Pacific region (APAC). Recognized as a leading expert for data communication on power lines, Bender joins Trilliant with more than 20 years of experience working on a diverse range of projects across the telecommunications and utilities industries.

Prior to joining Trilliant, Bender was a senior executive with Accenture, serving as the company's lead smart grid and smart metering architect for APAC. Bender also led Accenture's Smart Grid Operations & Technology (SGOT) group for APAC. Prior to his work for Accenture, Bender served as founder and CEO of Bender Information & System technology, a worldwide provider of IT and telecommunication solutions.
In addition to his role as managing director with Trilliant, Bender will continue to serve in a number of key industry roles, including as a member of: the European Smart Metering Industry Group (ESMIG); two European smart grid standardization bodies (CENELEC and ETSI); and the Advisory Board of Open PLC European Research Alliance (OPERA).

Bender holds a master's degree in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and was Professor for Systems Design and Methodologies at Cologne University in Germany from 1992 to 1997.
