Judges and Attendees Vote for Kinetise in GDS International's iStrategy London's iPitch Contest
LONDON, June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Europe's premier digital marketing event, iStrategy London - held at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge Stadium on 22-23 May - was another huge success for the organisers and attendees alike. But they weren't the only ones to benefit from two days of sparkling content, engaging speakers and first-class networking.
Warsaw-based software development house FUN and MOBILE impressed audience members and judges alike in the iPitch competition - an onsite contest to find the most innovative, and most useful, technology solution for marketing professionals - with a game-changing app-builder solution called Kinetise, due for release this summer.
iPitch presenters had just six minutes to get their idea across before facing a grilling from an iPitch judging panel made up of digital marketing heavyweights Gillian Muessig, internet pioneer and founding president of SEOmoz; Neal Schaffer, social media marketing expert and bestselling author; and Christer Holloman, digital entrepreneur and chairman of First Tuesday.
The Polish firm faced stiff competition from fellow contestants Brandwatch, Engage Sciences, MagicSolver, EHS4D and Kantar Media Compete, but wowed the crowd with their drag-and-drop, cross-platform, fully customisable mobile app developing solution.
"People don't use mobile phones all that much for calling anymore," explained Piotr Pawlak, CEO of FUN and MOBILE. "The world is all about apps. But how do you even start to create an app with so many mobile platforms out there? Everyone talks about iPhone and Android, but by developing apps for just these two systems firms are targeting only a fraction of Europe's mobile population. What about Symbian, Blackberry and Windows? And what about the untold number of feature phone users out there as well?"
The challenges for developers in today's increasingly mobile world are threefold, says Pawlak. First, the cost of developing for multiple operating systems and devices is prohibitive. Secondly, it takes significantly longer to design for multiple platforms, thus slowing time-to-market. And finally, with so many devices and systems out there, it is extremely difficult to test your apps on all of them.
Which is where FUN and MOBILE comes in. Kinetise is a web-based application creator that enables you to develop native apps without writing a single line of code. With Kinetise you can design apps all by yourself and immediately see what you're creating, while the drag-and-drop interface makes it both intuitive and user-friendly, offering creators what Pawlak calls "probably the most engaging experience ever".
Users can choose from a range of readymade templates for a fast start, or customise the design according to their own needs. Kinetise seamlessly integrates with social platforms such as Wordpress, Drupal, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Vimeo and Flickr, and also supports push notifications, allowing companies to connect with customers in real-time.
The benefits are obvious, says Pawlak. "You can design once and run on every platform, saving you precious time and money. You don't require any coding skills or time for testing. And you can get a mobile app up-and-running in a matter of hours."
And best of all? "It works. And it works nicely."
Both the panel and those attending were impressed with the concept. "Based on the audience response, the fact that it has a very valid (and reasonably low) price point, and the team's passionate insistence that their solution works and works well, FUN and MOBILE was a clear winner," said Gillian Muessig, chair of the judging panel.
Richard Stirk, VP of Conferences at GDS international, the company behind the iStrategy event, believes the success of FUN and MOBILE perfectly encapsulates the goals of the conference. "iStrategy aims to bring new solutions and ideas to the attention of the people who matter most: potential end-users," he said. "We are delighted to introduce Kinetise to a wider audience, and pleased that the FUN and MOBILE team has received such positive feedback. Indeed, our thanks go to all our speakers and partners for helping deliver a fascinating two days of discussion, learning and networking."
Kinetise will be launched later this summer. For more information, please visit the teaser site at kinetise.com, where you can receive updates on Kinetise and be amongst the first to try this exciting new product. More information on FUN and MOBILE can be found at http://www.funandmobile.com.
