J.P. Morgan Asset Management Hires James Gearin as Chief Operating Officer of Retirement Plan Services
NEW YORK, Aug. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- J.P. Morgan Asset Management today announced that it has hired James Gearin as Chief Operating Officer of its Retirement Plan Services (RPS) business. Mr. Gearin will be based in Overland Park, KS, and will report to David Musto, CEO of J.P. Morgan RPS.
Mr. Gearin will be responsible for the overall strategic direction and execution of J.P. Morgan RPS business operations, including oversight of operations and technology programs and initiatives, project management, and business management.

Mr. Gearin joins J.P. Morgan Asset Management from the consulting group Knowledgent, where he most recently led its Retirement practice. Between 1983 and 2008, Mr. Gearin worked in the Retirement and Benefits Outsourcing business at Fidelity Investments where he measurably increased service excellence, operational efficiency and business growth through his leadership of a variety of business functions, including financial operations, client services, integrated product development, and business development strategy.
