Joyce Foundation Announces Tracey L. Meares and Margot M. Rogers to Join Its Board of Directors
Deputy Dean of Yale Law School and Former Chief of Staff at U.S. Department of Education Join Great Lakes Philanthropy
CHICAGO, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Joyce Foundation today announced the election of Tracey L. Meares and Margot M. Rogers to its board of directors. Professor Meares is Deputy Dean and Walton Hale Hamilton Professor of Law at Yale Law School; Ms. Rogers most recently served as chief of staff to U.S. Department of Education Secretary Arne Duncan.

Prior to her position at Yale, Professor Meares served as the Max Pam Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Studies in Criminal Justice at the University of Chicago Law School. Her teaching and research subjects have centered on criminal procedure and criminal law policy. She earned her B.S. in General Engineering from the University of Illinois and her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
Prior to joining the Obama Administration, Ms. Rogers served as the special assistant to the director of education at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In addition, she was an attorney at the Center for Law and Education in Washington, DC and has served on numerous education-related boards and advisory commissions. Ms. Rogers earned her B.A. in History from Emory University, a master's degree in American History from the University of Virginia, and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
