Joyce Foundation Announces Angelique Power as Culture Program Officer
CHICAGO, July 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Joyce Foundation today announced that Angelique Power will join the organization as senior program officer for the Culture Program in late August. Ms. Power comes to Joyce with more than 15 years experience in communications and outreach, most recently serving as director of communications and community engagement at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

As senior program officer, Ms. Power will guide Joyce's Culture Program, which distributes $2 million annually. She will focus on sustaining and advancing accessibility to high-quality arts, developing leadership programs and capacity building of community-based arts groups, and fostering the creative work of minority artists through the Joyce Awards.
Ms. Power served in communications and marketing leadership roles at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art for seven years prior to joining Joyce. She also developed philanthropic marketing efforts as a senior manager and community relations specialist at Target Corporation.
Ms. Power co-founded the Multicultural Arts Marketing Committee, which aims to increase participation of audiences of color within Chicago's cultural institutions. She also serves on Museums in the Park's marketing committee.
