Journey Summer Tour 2015 Rocking it to Sold Out Crowds
SAN FRANCISCO, March 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Take a look at the Journey 2015 tour schedule and you'll see a lot of "sold out" venues across the country and internationally. Journey played to a sold out crowd on their first stop on the tour in Thackerville, Oklahoma, on March 6. Oklahoma is the birthplace of guitarist and Journey founding member, Neal Schon and was a perfect place to launch their Summer 2015 tour.
Just 18 months earlier, Schon was honored in Tulsa where he was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. Schon took the opportunity, while in Oklahoma, to donate one of his signature PRS guitars to the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. Board members from the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame attended a backstage dedication while filming a segment for an upcoming TV show featuring the rock icon and his new Model NS-14 royal blue PRS guitar. "I love everything about them. I had the pleasure in helping in the creation of these beauties. These are among the best guitars I've ever played." Neal Schon, Journey
New Orleans was the next stop on the tour where Journey fans filled every seat in the sold out Smoothie King Center. Upcoming dates on their 2015 tour include Jacksonville, Tampa and West Palm Beach, Florida. The band will play several dates in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico before they land in Las Vegas for a month long stay at the Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
Accompanying Schon throughout the tour is his bride of just over a year, TV personality, Michaele Schon. Michaele, who has toured "faithfully" with Schon for four years, loves touring with her husband. When asked about being on the road for so long, Michaele said, "Our home is where Neal and I are."
Journey has successfully accomplished the almost impossible feat attempted by so many classic 70s and 80s bands by appealing to a brand new generation of music lovers and filling the concert venues with fans of all ages. The best of both worlds exists for this phenomenal rock band as they continually attract the faithful die-hard Journey fans that have been following them from their early days, to a younger audience who are now filling the seats at Journey concerts all over the world. The band includes longtime members Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain and Ross Valory, all part of Journey's early roots. Add in "newcomers" Dean Castronovo (drums and back up vocals) who has been with the band for over ten years, and lead singer, Arnel Pineda, who nails the vocals of Journey's distinct signature sound, (introduced in 2007) to form the perfect combination that is catapulting Journey to a new level of touring and recording success.
Touring with Journey throughout the 2015 Summer Tour are Tower of Power and the Steve Miller Band. Visit journeymusic.com for Summer Tour 2015 dates and locations. Check out Schonmusic.com for more information about the PRS guitars and upcoming projects by Neal Schon.
