Journalism Education Association Certifies Seven Jostens Yearbook Sales Representatives
Third year of certification program brings total of Jostens accredited reps to 53
MINNEAPOLIS, April 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Jostens, the leading producer of yearbooks and student-created content, announced that seven of its yearbook sales representatives have earned the Journalism Education Association's (JEA) designation of Certified Journalism Educators (CJE). The newly certified group joins an elite group of 46 other Jostens sales representatives, bringing the company's CJE total to an industry-leading 53.
The designation allows certified yearbook representatives to partner with educators to enhance students' experience in developing Common Core and 21st Century Skills.
Jostens has endorsed the JEA's rigorous accreditation process as part of its formal sales representative training program. Earning the certification requires weeks of preparation and passing a three-hour exam focusing on journalistic writing and editing, graphics and design, legal and ethical considerations, fiscal management, leadership training, conflict resolution and more.
"Certification from the Journalism Education Association helps signify the top performers in our profession—those individuals who possess the education and experience to teach journalism and advise student publications," said Kelly Furnas, JEA executive director. "Jostens has shown its commitment to schools and students by making this level of excellence a standard for its representatives who interact with classrooms."
The newly certified Jostens CJEs are: Cam Bardwell, Dave Belland, Jeff Carns, Jeremy Grubbs, Jacqui Koplik, Maureen Willett, and Len Quinlan.
