JotForm Reaches PCI DSS Service Provider Level One Compliance
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- JotForm is now certified as Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Service Provider Level 1, the highest level any business can attain. It also makes JotForm the first and only form building software to be PCI DSS Level 1. The PCI DSS Service Provider Level 1 designation follows an external audit conducted by the Israel-based Comsec Group, which issued the favorable Report on Compliance.
"We're proud to be the first online form building software to be PCI Level 1 compliant," said JotForm founder and CEO, Aytekin Tank. "We've always taken security seriously, but we believe this certification shows our level of commitment to keeping our users' data safe."
The Report on Compliance verifies a merchant is compliant with the PCI DSS standard. PCI DSS policies and procedures were created to support the security of credit card transactions and protect cardholders against fraud and other misuse of personal information. PCI DSS was created as a joint effort of Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
JotForm's previous certification was PCI DSS Service Provider Level 2, but as the volume of integrated payments increased, it became a necessary step to upgrade to the highest level of security.
JotForm supports integrations with 20 different payment companies, including Square, PayPal, First Data and Stripe. Integrated payment forms are used so users can sell custom orders and event tickets, as well as collect fees and donations.
Since JotForm introduced the ability to process payments directly through online forms in 2010, it's gained popularity. In Aug. 2017, JotForm users transacted more than 200,000 payments through their forms -- a number expected to increase substantially during the school year.
"Offering secure payments allows us to create a frictionless experience for organizations to get paid," said Tank. "Collecting money shouldn't be a multi-step process, so we made sure it isn't."
In addition to its recent certification for Level-1 compliance, JotForm has rolled out several other security features in recent years to enhance security, including form encryption, and the ability for users to store data on European servers, if they so choose.
