JotForm Reaches Major Milestone: 2 Million Users and Counting
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- JotForm, a leading online form building platform, is now 2 million users strong. The company's product makes it easy for different types of organizations to create online forms without needing to know how to code. JotForm hits the milestone right on the cusp of celebrating its 10-year anniversary.
"I couldn't be happier with our growth," said JotForm founder and CEO, Aytekin Tank. "We're by no means ready to slow down, but it's really fantastic to reach this milestone."
Unlike many software companies that have experienced similar growth, JotForm is completely bootstrapped, meaning they have never received outside funding.
"It's really made our growth story extra special," Tank said. "We did this all on our own, and we did it our way. I think it's a real testament to the vision we had since the beginning to make forms easy; we never changed our mission."
Three years ago, JotForm celebrated its one millionth user. Since then, the company has released dozens of new features, improved the functionality of its core product, and more than doubled its employee count. Tank said the user growth can be attributed to a number of new innovative features, word of mouth about the company and coverage in major media outlets.
"It's been a terrific past few years for JotForm," Tank said. "We're not the type of company that sits back and waits for good things to happen; we go to work every day to figure out how we can make JotForm better."
A major factor that helped inch JotForm closer to the 2 million mark over the past year was the closing of a major competitor, Adobe FormsCentral. For six months leading up to the product's closing this past summer, JotForm offered FormsCentral users a way to import all of their existing forms and response data -- a move that helped introduce thousands of new users to JotForm.
JotForm users come in all shapes and sizes from small businesses to education space to the nonprofit industry. Also among JotForm users are several Fortune 500 companies, including Uber, Chevron and Delta Airlines; major universities like Harvard, the University of Cincinnati and UCLA; major government entities, like Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART); and even the 1980s band Depeche Mode.
Since 2006, JotForm has been at the forefront of easy, allowing users to create great forms using their simple drag-and-drop form builder -- all without any coding experience. JotForm's 8,000 ready-made form templates, 100 integrations and more than 380 widgets have made it one of the leading form builders for companies all over the world.
