Proceeds benefit The Nicholas Sparks Foundation, a nonprofit committed to providing students with leadership skills, academic development, international experiences, and cultural understanding necessary to flourish in the global society of the 21st century.
"With the new school year upon us, it's the perfect time to draw attention to my Foundation—an amazing cause that inspires youth to make a difference in the world," noted Sparks. "In partnership with Joss & Main, we are excited to raise awareness and funds to develop programs that increase cultural immersion in education with the aim of helping future generations contribute to the story of life by becoming better global citizens."
In 2006, recognizing the importance of childhood education, Nicholas Sparks started The Epiphany School for Global Studies in New Bern, North Carolina, with a focus on global education, service to others and one's own community, and international understanding. In the fall of 2011, the Nicholas Sparks Foundation was formed to expand the philanthropy of the Sparks family, while showcasing the work being done at The Epiphany School on a national level. Nicholas's hope is that friends and fans will be equally inspired to contribute and help make an impact on the world.
When designing this curated Joss & Main collection, careful attention was paid to colors and textures that invoke popular scenes from Sparks' novels. For instance, several pieces from the collection will take you back to the austere beauty of coastal North Carolina in 1946 where The Notebook took place.
"We truly commend what Nicholas Sparks and his foundation have achieved over the last few years. We are honored to have the opportunity to showcase these beautiful product picks reminiscent of his novels to benefit such a worthy cause," said Meredith Mahoney, director of curation at Joss & Main. "As with every Curate For A Cause event, our goal with these special collections is to bring a vision and mission to life with unique products and exquisite furniture."
The Curate For A Cause event will launch on Tuesday, September 17th at 9 p.m. ET and run through Tuesday, October 15th.
