Joshua Young is a special counsel serving in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group. His practice focuses on the financial services industry, specifically in the banking sector, where he has previous experience from both an in-house and outside counsel capacity. Prior to joining Jones Walker, Mr. Young served as general counsel for a South Florida based community bank and then later as in-house counsel for a multi-state, regional bank with a focus on special assets and loss sharing.

Mr. Young's practice includes advising banks on regulatory, operational issues, and special assets related matters. He advises and represents banks relative to their day to day matters, such as those that involve the branches or deposit operations, as well as general corporate matters. Mr. Young also advises banks on civil and regulatory actions, such as cease and desist orders, consumer and regulatory complaints, and other state and federal defensive litigation. His practice also includes advising banks on compliance with banking laws and regulations, consumer compliance laws, labor and employment matters, and agreements with vendors and customers.
He earned his juris doctor degree from St. Thomas University School of Law, summa cum laude, and his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Florida State University.
