Josh Cellars And The Gary Sinise Foundation Team Up To Honor America's First Responders
For Every Bottle of Wine Purchased, $1 Donation Made to Programs Supporting Everyday Heroes and Their Families
NEW YORK, June 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, California wine Josh Cellars announced an inaugural partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation (GSF), an organization that honors our nation's first responders, veterans and their families. For every bottle of wine sold, Josh Cellars -- founded and named in honor of the winemaker's dad, who was a soldier and volunteer firefighter -- will donate one dollar to GSF, up to $50,000.
Now through July 31 at participating retailers, consumers are invited to join Josh Cellars and GSF in their shared commitment to America's everyday heroes by purchasing one of Josh Cellars' premium Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot varietals. All money raised will fund programs supporting those who selflessly serve to protect our safety, including firefighters, police and emergency workers.
"Like so many people, 9/11 affected me deeply and changed my life in a profound way. I was thrust into a level of public service that I never imagined, and I knew I wanted to do more to support our nation's defenders and show appreciation for their service," said Gary Sinise, founder, Gary Sinise Foundation; musician; and award-winning actor known for roles in Forrest Gump and CSI: NY. "We are thrilled to partner with Josh Cellars, and together look forward to inspiring America's first responders, strengthening their communities and assisting their families in times of need."
Rooted in founder Joseph Carr's commitment to his father, Josh, the limited-time promotion coincides with Father's Day – an occasion that encourages us all to pause and pay homage to dads and other everyday heroes who spend their days taking care of others.
"I have incredibly fond memories of my dad serving as a firefighter and remember what he and other neighborhood heroes meant to our family, friends and the entire community, " says Joseph Carr, Josh Cellars vintner and producer. "Josh Cellars is my personal tribute to my father, and our partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation will continue our mission to support those, like my dad, who selflessly sacrifice to put others' needs before their own."
