Joseph S. Fichera to Be Senior Advisor to The Williams Capital Group
NEW YORK, Jan. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Williams Capital Group, L.P. (WCG), a leading boutique U.S. investment bank that provides debt and equity underwriting, corporate and public finance services, announced today that Joseph S. Fichera has agreed to serve as a Senior Advisor to the firm. In this capacity, Mr. Fichera will advise WCG on various securities and capital markets related initiatives involving the Company's corporate and municipal client service efforts including mergers and acquisitions.

In 2000, Mr. Fichera founded Saber Partners, LLC, http://www.saberpartners.com a financial advisory firm for corporate and public sector entities which specializes in the power industry and corporate and municipal finance issues, such as auction rate securities and securitized debt. He will continue as Saber's Chief Executive Officer and Senior Managing Director.
Mr. Fichera has a distinguished career in financial services and investment banking, serving first as an officer at Smith Barney followed by managing director posts at both Bear Stearns and Prudential Securities. He has been an advisor to large and small entities, such as the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission, the Governor of California, Texas Instruments, Dow Corning, Hendrick Automotive, Luby's Restaurants, and TransTech Pharma, among others. Mr. Fichera also served as a member of the board of directors (audit committee) of the Czech & Slovak American Enterprise Fund. His securities work in corporate, municipal, and structured finance has been separately honored with "Deal of the Year" awards from independent publications such as Institutional Investor magazine making him one of the few banking professionals to be recognized for contributions in all three areas of investment banking. The Wall Street Journal has described him as an expert in auction securities and the New York Times has consulted him on the effects of and reforms needed resulting from the financial crisis. In addition, Mr. Fichera has been published in Barrons, The Wall Street Journal, and other noted publications.
Mr. Fichera also currently serves on the Advisory Boards of Princeton University's Center for Economic Policy Studies and QuestBridge scholarship program for low–income students. He has been a Visiting Lecturer in Public and International Affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, and served as the chairman of the Advisory Council of Princeton's Economics Department.
Mr. Fichera received a BA from Princeton University and an MBA from Yale University.
