Joseph M. Rigby, President & CEO of Pepco Holdings, Inc. to Chair Local United Way Board of Directors
WASHINGTON, June 24, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Joseph M. Rigby, Chairman, President and CEO of Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI) is the new chair of the Board of Directors of United Way of the National Capital Area (United Way NCA), effective June 23, 2011. Rigby succeeds Robert A. Malson, Esq., President, District of Columbia Hospital Association, who has served as Chairman of the United Way NCA Board for the past two years.
Rigby has been Chairman of the Finance Committee and Treasurer for the United Way NCA Board of Directors for the past two years; his experience and expertise have contributed significantly to helping the Board chart a course for the region's United Way organization that will continue to be financially sustainable and organizationally effective as it supports our community through challenging times.
Pepco has a long tradition of deep commitment to the communities the company serves. This tradition continues through Rigby's leadership and manifests through both corporate giving and sponsorship and through the community involvement and volunteerism of its employees.
