With a MBA degree from UC Berkeley, Valenzuela has more than two decades of experience in investments, asset management, and project management of real assets. His expertise comprises financial and technical advisory for the development, investment, and financing of public infrastructure and real estate projects, with particular proficiency in public-private partnerships.
At Arup, Valenzuela leads the Transaction Advice business for San Francisco and Latin America, and has directed engagements in Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Honduras, Peru, as well as the United States. He has participated in more than 25 major mergers and acquisitions and project finance deals. He has been the project director for a range of consulting engagements including toll roads, airports, transmission lines, energy generation, and social infrastructure.
In all, Arup promoted six to principal in the Americas.
