Jones Walker, Venable Seek Enforcement of Ruling on Deepwater Drilling Moratorium Injunction
NEW ORLEANS and WASHINGTON, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The law firms of Jones Walker and Venable LLP continue their efforts on behalf of Hornbeck Offshore Services, the Chouest Entities, and the Bollinger Entities.
Today, Judge Feldman issued rulings on motions filed yesterday by both parties in the case. The plaintiffs filed to enforce the preliminary injunction, while the government's motion attempted to obtain a stay of the preliminary injunction, pending appeal.
The judge denied the government's request for a stay and directed the government to report to the court in thirty days its compliance with the order lifting the moratorium.
Jones Walker and Venable plan to vigorously prosecute the injunction on behalf of the plaintiffs through the appellate process.
Carl D. Rosenblum and Alida C. Hainkel of Jones Walker are leading the litigation aspects of the case. John Cooney of Venable is leading the team's strategy on matters of administrative law and procedure.
