Jones Elected to State Farm Mutual(R) Board of Directors
BLOOMINGTON, Ill., June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- W. Steven Jones, dean (emeritus) and professor at the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler Business School, has been elected to the board of directors of State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co.
Jones, currently professor of organizational behavior and strategy at UNC, served as the business school's dean from 2003 until 2008. He was CEO and managing director of Suncorp Metway Ltd. in Australia from 1996 to 2002. Prior to that, he was CEO and managing director of ANZ Banking Group, N.Z., Ltd. in New Zealand and before that senior general manager of ANZ Banking Group in Australia. From 1984 to 1991, he was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and the FSM Group.
He also serves on the boards of Progress Energy, Inc.; Premiere Global Services, Inc.; and Glen Raven, Inc.
He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from UNC and a Masters of Business Administration, with distinction, from Harvard Business School.
