Johnson to Retire from Integrys Energy Group, Guc Named Successor
GREEN BAY, Wis., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Integrys Energy Group, Inc. (NYSE: TEG) today announced the upcoming retirement of Vice President and Treasurer Brad Johnson. Johnson will retire on November 30, 2010 after more than 31 years with the company. As leader of the Treasury department, Johnson was responsible for Integrys Energy Group's financing and banking relationships, financial planning and analysis, risk management oversight, and directing long and short term financing and investment strategies. Bill Guc, currently Vice President - Finance and Accounting and Controller for Integrys Energy Services, the nonregulated energy services subsidiary of Integrys Energy Group, will replace Johnson as Vice President and Treasurer.
Johnson, 56, previously served in a number of roles including Vice President and Treasurer for WPS Resources Corporation, which changed its name to Integrys Energy Group at the time of the merger with Peoples Energy Corporation in 2007, and Wisconsin Public Service Corporation (WPSC). He began his career with WPSC in 1979 as Tax Accountant and subsequently served as Tax and Accounting Policy Supervisor, Director - Corporate Tax and Corporate Planning Executive. Prior to joining WPSC, Johnson was in public accounting for three years.
Johnson is a member of the board of directors, executive committee and business committee for the Greater Green Bay YMCA and currently serves as the board treasurer.
An Eau Claire, WI, native, Johnson received a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an accounting major from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh.
Guc, 41, originally came to WPS Energy Services, Inc., which changed its name to Integrys Energy Services in 2007, in early 2005 as Controller. He helped manage the company's finance, credit and accounting organization, as well as the Information Technology function. Most recently, as Vice President - Finance and Accounting and Controller for Integrys Energy Services, he worked extensively on the effort to divest and restructure Integrys Energy Services into a smaller, more focused, customer-centric business. Prior to joining WPS Energy Services in 2005, Guc served as accounting manager for DTE Energy Trading in Detroit, MI.
A native of Southeast Michigan, Guc is a certified public accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Wayne State University and a Masters of Business Information Technology from Walsh College.
