MILWAUKEE, May 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Johnson Controls, a global multi-industrial company with established core businesses in the automotive, building, and energy storage industries, announced today that its board of directors has elected two of its existing corporate officers to expanded roles responsible for leading the company and developing its enterprise capabilities in Asia Pacific.
"We are taking a significant step toward establishing the enterprise leadership required for our business in Asia Pacific," said Alex Molinaroli, chairman and chief executive officer, Johnson Controls. "Having company leaders located in the region is a key enabler, as we significantly expand investments across all business units within the region and strengthen our automotive relationships in response to the continued rapid growth of China as the largest automotive market in the world."
Dr. Beda Bolzenius, vice president and president Automotive Experience, will continue in his current role and take on the additional responsibility for leading Johnson Controls' enterprise activities for Asia Pacific. As vice chairman, Johnson Controls Asia Pacific, Bolzenius will relocate to Shanghai and will lead the region for the company. He will also be the Johnson Controls' executive sponsor for the recently announced automotive interiors joint venture with Yanfeng Automotive Trim Systems Co.
Dr. Bolzenius joined Johnson Controls in 2004 as executive vice president and general manager of Europe, Africa and South America for Automotive Experience. In 2005, he was appointed vice president and president, Automotive Experience.
Susan Davis will assume the expanded role of executive vice president and chief human resources officer (CHRO) and take an Asian Pacific assignment in Shanghai. With these additional duties, she will lead the creation of the company's future functional organization for the Shanghai headquarters and establish unifying human resource organization, practices and processes for the region.
Davis began her career in 1983 as a strategic planner for Hoover Universal, an automotive seating and plastics machinery business. She joined Johnson Controls following the acquisition of Hoover Universal in 1985 and has since served in positions of increasing responsibility. She was named vice president, organizational development in 1993. The following year, she was appointed corporate vice president of Human Resources, and was named to her current position in 2005.
