John Wayne Cancer Foundation Announces Appointment Of New President, Catherine A. Brown
Brown To Lead Strategic National And International Expansion
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., May 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- John Wayne Cancer Foundation (JWCF), whose mission is to bring courage, strength and grit to the fight against cancer, is pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine A. Brown, FASAE, CAE as President effective May 18, 2015. A new position for the foundation, Brown will implement key strategies to increase JWCF's presence both nationally and internationally.
"When my dad passed away from cancer in 1979, he asked our family to help the good doctors fight the fight against cancer," says Ethan Wayne, Director of John Wayne Cancer Foundation. "We accepted that responsibility and through our efforts, the John Wayne Cancer Foundation was established in his name. We continue the fight and are pleased to bring Catherine onboard to help us with the next phase of the foundation's growth."

Brown brings more than 25 years of experience in strategic governance, organizational development and outcomes management to the role. She most recently served as Vice President of the Pacific West Region for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Before that she held many prestigious titles including Executive Vice President of ConferenceDirect, President of the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation, Vice President of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses as well as Vice President at Anthony J. Jannetti, Inc. She graduated from Hunter College, City University of New York with a BS in nursing and also holds a MSN from the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School of Business. Catherine served on the Advisory Board of the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation from 2013-2015.
