NEW YORK, March 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- John Rao has joined the New York office of Protiviti, a global consulting firm, as a managing director and leader of the firm's insurance industry practice. He also serves as U.S. Eastern Region Financial Services Leader. Rao uses his deep global industry experience to assist clients with achieving significant business value through strategic technology and operations improvement. He serves clients by helping them with financial management and cost management effectiveness as well as productivity and profit improvements.
Rao brings more than 28 years of experience in global operations and technology. He has led complex IT initiatives, transformation and re-engineering efforts to create common operating platforms for the global insurance industry across the United States, Latin America, Asia-Pacific and Europe.
Prior to joining Protiviti, Rao served as managing director and U.S. financial services practice leader at Navigant Consulting, and as senior vice president U.S. client services and chief administrative officer of the international business at MetLife. Earlier in his career, Rao also served as a senior executive at Fidelity Investments and JPMorgan Chase.
Rao holds a master's degree in management and finance from Long Island University, and a bachelor's degree in business administration from St. Michael's College.
