Patent Prosecution Focus Bolsters IP Specialty Firm's Mechanical Practice Group
WASHINGTON, April 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox P.L.L.C. (Sterne Kessler), an intellectual property law firm in Washington, DC, announced today that the firm has expanded its Mechanical and Materials Science Practice with the addition of John P. McGroarty, a veteran patent attorney with more than 17 years of experience.
Mr. McGroarty specializes in the procurement, licensing and enforcement of patent rights, while advising clients regarding the development and management of U.S. and international patent portfolios and patent licensing transactions. He works with clients involved in a wide range of mechanical and electromechanical technologies, including electronic devices, semiconductor devices, semiconductor packaging, organic materials, optics, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications and medical instruments.

Mr. McGroarty holds a J.D. from Georgetown University School of Law, a M.S. in Materials Science Engineering from Cornell University, and a B.S. in Materials Science Engineering and Finance from the University of Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, New York, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
