John has over 30 years of diverse and progressive experience within the healthcare industry in executive roles. Mr. O'Neil's executive healthcare experience coupled with Vincari's CMO, Dr. Lucian Newman's experience as an active surgeon allows Vincari to address the challenges both hospitals and surgeons face, including the need for a time saving ICD-10 solution for surgeons.
John O'Neil received a B.A. in Business and Psychology at the University of Iowa and a MHSA in Health Services Administration at Central Michigan University. John served as President and CEO of Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Hospital in Binghamton, New York for 10 years from 1999-2009 during which he increased net revenue by over 25% during his last three years, increased cash position by over $50 million, and improved market share in a competitive environment. From 2005-2009 he served on many councils and committees under Ascension Health providing leadership in strategic planning, capital acquisition, budget obtainment, leadership development, and talent management. Beginning in 2009 he served as President and CEO of St. Vincent's Health System in Birmingham, Alabama. During his tenure from 2009-2014, he increased net revenue by $200 million, grew a robotic surgery program to rank within the top 5 in the US, and drove operational efficiencies to the 15th percentile of the national database.
John currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama and is the current Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Vincari.
