John Leahy Named Chief Financial Officer for Cengage Learning

BOSTON, Nov. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- John Leahy has been appointed Chief Financial Officer for Cengage Learning, a leading global education company, to lead the Company's financial management team. Based in Boston, John will lead all financial activity for Cengage Learning and will report to the Chief Executive Officer Michael Hansen as part of the Executive Team, effective December 1^st.

John most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Care.com, the world's largest online marketplace for finding and managing family care, where he helped lead its successful Initial Public Offering this past January. Previously, John served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of iRobot, a pure play robotics firm which develops and markets consumer and defense products, and as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Keane, Inc., which provided business consulting and outsourcing services to Fortune 1000 companies. He spent the first part of his career with PepsiCo in a variety of domestic and international management assignments over 17-years, including Vice President, Global Strategic Planning and M&A. John holds a B.S. in Finance from Merrimack College and an M.B.A from the Boston College Graduate School of Management.
